General Hospital Monday, April 20 Recap: Nina Hires Ric for Willow’s Battered Woman Defense

General Hospital (GH) recap for Monday, April 20, reveals that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) contacted Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) for some Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen) help while Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) shared an idea that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) didn’t like.

At Crimson, Willow raged at Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) to keep Jacinda Bracken (Paige Herschell) away from the kids and trashed Jacinda over her past.

Michael rushed to Jacinda’s defense and ranted about all Willow’s lies.

Willow stood her ground on Michael needing to keep Jacinda out of the children’s orbit or else she planned to make him regret it.

Once Willow was gone, Michael regretted losing his cool since he needed to be playing the long game with her.

Michael knew that if they went back to family court, he could lose time with his kids now that Congresswoman Cain was respected while he was still under shooter suspicion.

Since Michael needed leverage against Willow, Jacinda hinted that she might be able to help.

That led to Jacinda talking about the deal Brennan offered her – the one where he would supply helpful info against Willow if she scored Valentin’s whereabouts from Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke).

In Carly’s kitchen, she was shocked to see Valentin sneak back in the house since she assumed he’d been up in the attic.

Valentin admitted he’d been to see Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and explained his plan to use her to feed Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) misinformation.

Valentin suggested that Nina could make Brennan think he had a regular meeting place with Charlotte and stage a situation to make Brennan believe he’d almost caught him.

Carly didn’t trust Nina and worried Valentin might actually get caught, but he worked to reassure her.

There was some lingering tension over Carly’s time in the bedroom with Brennan before Valentin returned to the attic.

At Nina’s place, she summoned Ric and wanted to hire him to create a battered woman’s defense for Willow in case it was needed.

Nina brought up Willow’s time in the cult and all the abuse she suffered, which she thought could help make the case that Willow wasn’t legally responsible for her actions.

Ric pointed out that double jeopardy applied to the attempted murder charges, but those charges could still be used to point to a pattern if Willow had done something else to Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) since then.

Ric also worried about Nina being an accessory if Willow planned to cause harm.

Although Ric eventually voiced concerns about Michael, Nina insisted Willow and Michael were on better terms now.

Suddenly, Willow came blowing in with complaints about Jacinda after her blowup with Michael at Crimson.

Nina spoke with Willow alone and argued that she couldn’t go back to family court with Michael since there was too much at stake.

Willow ultimately agreed Nina was right and decided she’d have to find another way to deal with this.

At GH, Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) waited on Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) during her follow-up appointment with Dr. Frida Navarro (Christina Ferrara), who gave Molly a positive report and cleared her to resume all normal activities.

Molly wondered if that meant she could get passionate with Cody again, so Dr. Navarro assured her it was totally fine as long as she listened to her own body.

Between the info from Dr. Navarro and Molly’s email about her final book changes being approved, she had a lot to celebrate with Cody.

Once Cody took Molly to Café Cherie, they got Champagne and discussed what they wanted to order.

Molly eventually suggested skipping the food and continuing their celebration in private.

At Pozzulo’s, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) arrived to discuss her concerns about Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn) with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Sonny made it clear that he wouldn’t allow Danny to join the mob and thought Alexis should keep Danny out of trouble by reminding him it could affect his ability to see Scout Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante).

Once Ric showed up, Alexis bickered with Sonny about his decision to let Ric join his legal team.

At Sonny’s house, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) let Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) in before they reflected on the past.

Kristina was grateful to Ethan for saving her from abusive Kiefer and apologetic for wrongfully blaming Ethan in the aftermath.

Ethan insisted it was all water under the bridge and thought back to Kristina’s days of crushing on him.

Kristina acknowledged that she had a different type now as they discussed Blaze aka Allison Rogers (Jacqueline Grace Lopez) and how their romance had been all over the news.

However, Kristina hoped to be friends with Ethan, who was clearly on board with the idea.

After Kristina talked about Charlie’s Pub, she mentioned the fire that was intentionally set and how they had to rebuild.

Kristina eventually asked Ethan about the reason for his return trip to Port Charles, so he mentioned his desire to see his family and wanted to possibly pick up some work with Sonny.

Kristina acknowledged that Ethan’s timing was perfect since Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was gone.

Once Sonny made it home with Ric, he was delighted over Ethan’s surprise visit. Ric, on the other hand, seemed suspicious of Ethan’s sudden arrival.

General Hospital spoilers say Ric will share some worries about Ethan and his motives soon, so stay tuned.
