General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that Josslyn Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) next love interest may be in the works.
Behind-the-scenes hints point to sparks flying with Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel) now that he’s made his first appearance in Port Charles.
In an interview with TV Insider, Troy Lennon Appel opened up about his unique casting journey.
It turns out Appel actually auditioned to play Detective Joe Fitzpatrick before Jonathan Bennett was cast in the part.
However, Appel’s audition was impressive enough to score him a different role instead. Here’s what Appel had to say about how the part of Hudson came to be.
“It was never something I ever thought would even remotely happen in my life, but they did kind of create this role for me,” Appel said.
Once Appel moved further along in the casting process, that’s when he was given a chemistry test with someone who could become his next love interest.
Eden McCoy may soon be Troy Lennon Appel’s on-screen leading lady based on what he divulged.
“I did a chemistry read with Eden much later when I kind of cemented that I was going to be playing another character, and it all just happened and I’m insanely grateful that it did,” Appel added.
Although Appel initially worried about fitting in at the show, he acknowledged that everyone has been welcoming and has made him feel like he belongs.
Appel considers this job a dream come true and is enjoying every second of his time at GH.
As for what the character of Hudson is like, Appel acknowledged that he’s “shady” and that it’s not always easy to guess the business exec’s motives.
Even Appel is in the dark on the full extent of Hudson’s intentions, so he’s going on this wild ride with fans.
Appel counts himself lucky to be portraying Hudson, who’ll share airtime with plenty of other characters in the coming weeks.
That includes Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and more.
Of course, since Troy Lennon Appel and Eden McCoy had a chemistry read, it’s not surprising that he’ll be sharing a ton of scenes with her.
Appel confirmed that he’s “worked a lot with Eden,” so perhaps a Hudson and Josslyn romance could soon get underway.
That said, since Josslyn works for the WSB and has a sneaky side of her own, she might end up manipulating Hudson to uncover his agenda.
Even if Josslyn falls for Hudson along the way, she might be playing him in the beginning for information.
