General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) could ditch Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup) and dive into a new romance with her music producer, Simon (Grady Eldridge) – so let’s talk about it.
Simon debuted as a recurring player during General Hospital’s Wednesday, July 15 episode, so fans will see more and more of him in the days, weeks, and months ahead.
On Wednesday’s show, the day had finally arrived for Trina and Giovanni “Gio” Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) to perform at their big showcase.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) was so amazed at Trina’s performance at Charlie’s months ago that she organized this as she believed in the young girl’s talents.
While Trina experienced cold feet some moments before she was supposed to head in front of the mic, BLQ offered a pep talk, and Gio brought it home by providing his friend with some encouraging words.
The two also met Simon beforehand, and there were some sparks that flew between Trina and the music executive as they were introduced to each other.
Unfortunately, the pairing of Trina and Kai has flopped in the chemistry department.
The two are definitely cute together, and they have had more than their fair share of ups and downs, but they don’t seem to have that same romance buzz that Trina once shared with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez).
Could Trina get to that level with Simon?
During the showcase, Simon seemed to be more impressed with Gio’s guitar skills than Trina’s singing.
He had mentioned this to Brook Lynn, which is when she reminded him that today was about Trina, not Gio.
With that said, when Simon headed into the music room after their first song, he advised Trina that he wanted her to perform again, but this time, let loose and give it her all.
During the second performance, Trina gave Simon what he was looking for, as it was more than clear that he could finally “feel” the music that Trina was belting out.
A music deal is likely in the works for Trina and possibly Gio, which means that Simon will be in the picture a lot more and spending a lot more time with her.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that Simon and Trina could bond over music.
He may even create a wedge between her relationship with Kai. Actor Jens Austin Astrup is a recurring character right now, too, so he’s expendable.
Even though Kai is linked to the Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) storyline, and he works for Willow Cain (Katelyn MacMullen), this doesn’t mean that he may not drift off canvas once the “locked-in” arc wraps up.
Could Trina and Simon create some onscreen magic that equals out to, or is greater than, what she experienced with Spencer?
As her music career evolves, and Simon is at the helm of things, these two could develop a strong bond.
General Hospital spoilers hint that Trina’s life will change once her music career skyrockets, so will that include leaving Kai behind to pursue something bigger with Simon?
