General Hospital Thursday, July 2 Recap: Cullum Takes Josslyn’s Bullet, Sidwell Arrested, Peter Haunts Anna

General Hospital (GH) recap for Thursday, July 2, reveals that Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) was blindsided by Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) while Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) was taken into police custody.

A Peter August (Wes Ramsey) hallucination also messed with Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) head, so let’s discuss all of Thursday’s GH drama.

At Anna’s facility in France, Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) confirmed that Anna’s Cassius Faison, aka fake Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), theory was true.

Anna’s doctor heard the story and was impressed by Anna’s feeling more like herself, so she decided to approve her release.

Although Anna was prepared to return home tomorrow, a vision of Peter appeared to Anna once she was alone, and she wondered if the others had bought it.

Since “Peter” was still rattling around inside Anna’s head, it became obvious that she was covering up her continued mental health crisis.

Back in Port Charles, “Nathan” shot Agent Harker (Matt Merchant) to save Carly Spencer (Laura Wright), who got the code to the door where Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) was stashed with Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), along with a gun.

Once “Nathan” made sure Carly had what she needed, he raced off to find Cullum and stop him from leaving with the cold fusion device.

Meanwhile, Liesl cut the power to the door so that the WSB agent coming after them couldn’t shoot her or Josslyn.

Once the agent was gone, Obrecht opened the door back up. Josslyn was stunned to find Carly standing there, but she ultimately took her mom’s gun and got Liesl to lock the door again with Carly inside.

That left Obrecht to explain the Cassius situation to Carly while Joss dashed off to give him some backup.

There was a shootout near the loading dock after Cassius missed his attempt to shoot and kill Cullum.

Josslyn tried to help, but she ended up getting shot in the abdomen. Cullum kicked all the guns away as he stepped toward Cassius to taunt him.

It turns out Cullum planned to make it seem like Cassius worked with Sidwell on the project and then gloat about taking them down.

Cullum insisted Cassius was his fall guy and admitted Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) never had Huntington’s disease to begin with.

That was all just a way to control Britt, who got fake medication to keep her in line.

Cullum also bragged about tricking Cassius into sending Britt fatal poison and pumped a bullet into Cassius at one point.

Wounded Josslyn was eavesdropping on the ground nearby and managed to scoot herself to a gun, which she used to fire at and seemingly kill Cullum.

Josslyn was fading fast when a helicopter landed and out stepped a mystery man, played by John Oliver. The mystery man – who was presumably “Z,” the head of the WSB – checked Cassius’ pulse, ignored dirty Cullum, and stooped down to let Josslyn know he was there to help.

In the storeroom at the gallery, Ava Jerome (Maura West) bonded with Ethan Lovett (Nathan Dean) as he continued losing blood.

Ava tried to keep Ethan talking and mentioned Phoebe (Luna and Lucia Creighton), but Ethan muttered that Phoebe wasn’t his daughter before passing out.

Over with Sidwell, he wanted Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to arrange a plane for him and planned to only tell the pilot where they were going once they were up in the air.

Sidwell intended to take ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor) as an insurance policy to make sure Sonny’s men wouldn’t take the plane down.

Sonny pushed Sidwell to take him instead, but Sidwell couldn’t stomach the idea of being stuck with Marco Rios’ (Adrian Anchondo) killer.

After Sonny insisted Cullum killed Marco instead, he got Sidwell riled up.

A struggle ensued that allowed Justine to get out of Sidwell’s grip and allowed Sonny to end up with a gun pointed at Sidwell.

Sonny had been waiting a long time to kill Sidwell, but Justine pleaded with him not to pull the trigger. Sonny finally relented and acknowledged that Justine had just saved Sidwell’s life.

Sidwell was ultimately arrested, so Justine thanked Sonny for not making her prosecute him and kissed him passionately.

At the Quartermaine stables, Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) managed to lift James West’s (Gary James Fuller) spirits a bit following “Nathan’s” goodbye.

Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) also got reassurance from Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) that he’d handled the “Nathan” situation earlier in the best way he could.
