General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that many fans have noticed something different since Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) returned to Port Charles and reunited with Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
The soapy drama that most of us have come to expect is gone and has been replaced by a happy TV movie vibe.
Is Steve Burton basically auditioning for Hallmark at this point?
The GH star has made a shocking pivot in more ways than one since Jason came home from the WSB prison in Jakarta.
Of course, it makes sense that Jason would be affected by such an awful ordeal.
No one is trying to minimize what Jason went through since it was clearly quite traumatic.
Even so, Jason’s transformation has brought a major shift that some viewers disapprove of.
Now that Jason has decided to ditch the mob, he’s positioning himself for less exciting storylines and more Hallmark-y moments like the ones he’s been sharing with Britt.
Some fans also objected to Jason’s quick forgiveness of Britt’s lies about Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey).
Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) told Jason that Britt exposed her as a WSB agent and accused Britt of putting her in danger.
Cassius had a very physical confrontation with Josslyn and turned her into a hostage at Wyndemere.
It’s true that Cassius saved Josslyn from Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) attempts to kill her, but Britt still sold Joss out to her lying brother.
Josslyn also told Jason about Britt deceiving him along with everyone else about Cassius’ imposter plot.
Britt always knew that Cassius was posing as Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and not the real thing, but she kept her mouth shut.
These were some big betrayals, but Jason accepted them calmly in the end – just like a Hallmark prince or other doting TV movie love interest would!
Jason forgave Britt’s deception, so they moved forward with a clean slate and a warm embrace.
Unfortunately, Britt and Jason’s romance seems to have lost its luster at this point.
There was a time when Jason and Britt had some hot chemistry, but it’s all dried up.
Perhaps that’s thanks in part to all the drama evaporating out of their story for the Hallmark-like changes that have come into play!
Should Jason and Britt split up now that nothing is sizzling between them anymore?
