The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, August 7, reveal that Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will have an intriguing encounter with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) while Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) join forces for a good cause.
First on Friday’s Y&R episode, Adam and Victoria will realize they need to come together for Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) sake.
With Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) off on their trip to Venice, it’s up to Victoria and Adam to offer family support.
Nick recently left rehab so he could watch Nikki and Victor renew their vows, but he seemed cagey when Nikki asked if he got permission for a break.
It’s possible Nick didn’t return to rehab after that ceremony, so Adam and Victoria may grow concerned.
Nick was already struggling in rehab and even felt like it was a mistake to be there at one point.
If Nick still feels that way, he may insist on handling any drug temptation on his own again.
That’s especially true now that Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) won’t be around to watch over Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and everyone else in the family.
Nick’s desire to play rescue ranger may come out, even when he needs to focus on his own recovery.
Adam and Victoria aren’t typically allies, but helping Nick is one area they can agree on.
Whether this involves pressuring Nick back into rehab or supporting him another way, it’s nice that Victoria and Adam will have his back.
Next, Mariah will have her first encounter with Matt, so that’ll bring some awkwardness.
Since Mariah knows all about Matt’s past crimes – including the awful things he did to Sharon – she’ll definitely be wary of him.
Even so, Mariah may see Matt’s total personality shift and admit she doesn’t feel like she’s talking to a monster.
Considering Mariah’s recent wild streak and her psychiatric facility stint that just wrapped up, she’ll have to mull over whether Matt has truly changed.
Over with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), she’ll somehow manage to send Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) down the right road.
It sounds like Audra will mention something that sparks some inspiration and perhaps leads to another Chancellor-related clue.
Billy will remain determined to dig deeper into the mystery benefactor who saved Chancellor years ago and figure out why Jill Abbott (last played by Lauren Koslow) might’ve kept this news under wraps.
