The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) just might have a fresh romantic match in his future.
Jade Harlow is joining the show as Marie Kirkland, so could she end up playing Nick’s next love interest?
Marie is set to make her Y&R debut on August 10, so that’s when fans will first meet Marie and get some hints about her past.
It turns out Marie has a messy history that she’ll be trying to get away from when she lands in Genoa City.
Of course, Nick can never resist damsels in distress, so could Marie be someone he feels the need to rescue somehow?
That could be the case depending on whatever trouble Mariah might’ve been in before coming to GC.
However, it’s not a great time for Nick to be entering a new romance since he needs to be concentrating on his addiction recovery.
Nick could cause problems for himself if he gets involved with someone romantically and loses his focus regarding his sobriety.
Even so, the heart wants what it wants, so Nick might find himself drawn to Marie anyway.
The situation could get even more complicated if Marie turns out to be someone Nick crosses paths with in his rehab-related meetings.
Marie might be someone who’s a bit further along in her recovery than Nick – or maybe she could be someone who’s struggling to get off drugs instead.
Nick might risk temptation to help Marie depending on how it all plays out.
Whatever the case, Marie will come blowing into Genoa City and shake things up, so Sharon will inevitably get jealous if Nick falls for her.
Sharon could end up being pretty protective as well, especially if Nick’s potential relationship with Marie puts his sobriety at risk.
There was a time when it looked like the show might actually reunite Sharon and Nick, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen now.
Nick and Sharon might still get a reunion down the road, but he could take a detour if he cozies up to Marie next.
