The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, August 6, reveals that a mystery will start to unravel while Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) grows concerned about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and what could happen if he goes rogue.
At Billy’s place, Cane will arrive to find him digging through boxes of the old Chancellor archives.
After Billy admits he found a clue to the buried secret at Chancellor, he’ll reveal that the company almost went bankrupt before Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) took over.
Since this news was kept quiet, Billy will smell a cover-up and will question who the mysterious benefactor was that provided a sudden influx of liquid cash.
Cane will downplay all this and angrily push Billy to concentrate on the job he was recruited for.
Otherwise, Cane may have to seriously rethink bringing Billy on board.
At the park café, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will gush to Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) about Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) getting her sight back and renewing her vows with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Holden will reflect on his view of marriage and how it’s something he hopes to get right the first time.
Claire will wind up heading to Holden’s GCAC suite with him, so they’ll land in bed together and establish that their romance can be as real as they want.
At Crimson Lights, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will explain his plan to use Newman Media to trash Cane and Billy.
It’ll be Adam’s strategy to make Billy pay and save Chancellor since Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) will be forced to fire him along with Cane.
Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will try to steer Adam away from revenge before heading over to Billy’s house, where she’ll confront him for trying to drive a wedge between Adam and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
Chelsea will be eager to stop the vengeful cycle that always plays out, but Y&R spoilers say Billy will push her to dump Adam since he’s a poisonous snake.
As for Adam, he’ll cross paths with Sally at Society, where she’ll urge him to just stay away from Billy and let him focus on his career at Chancellor.
After Cane interrupts Holden’s time in bed with Claire, Holden will join him downstairs at the bar.
Cane will voice concerns about Billy stirring up trouble and will need someone he trusts to keep an eye on him.
Holden will wonder if Cane wants to know every move Billy makes, but Cane will just be interested in the ones that pertain to digging into Chancellor’s archives.
Cane won’t know if there’s anything to find, but he’ll be worried enough to put Holden to work spying on Billy.
Holden won’t get why Cane doesn’t just cut Billy loose if he can’t be trusted.
At The Shadow Room, Christine Blair Romalotti (Lauralee Bell) won’t get why Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) is taking her there or why he has a key.
Danny will ultimately reveal that he’s the new manager, but Christine will seem skeptical about him giving up his rockstar life.
Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) will also have his doubts once he shows up, but Danny will insist he’s ready to focus on his family.
In the end, The Young and the Restless spoilers say Danny will push Daniel to come work with him at the club as well.
