The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Thursday, July 23, reveals that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will shock Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) with an angry order while Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) moves full-speed ahead with his plot to deceive Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
At Society, Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) will be irritated over Adam offering Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) a deal without consulting her.
Although Chelsea will worry about Victor’s reaction, Adam will insist Victor never has to know about the money and that it’ll look like they pulled off a coup.
At the GCAC, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) will have concerns about surrendering to Adam’s proposal, but Sally will convince her this is their best move.
Once Sally calls Adam, he’ll come over with Chelsea so they can discuss the details of their new agreement.
Sally and Audra will look over some legal paperwork that gives them a specific amount of money for the assets that previously made up Newman Media.
Audra will ask if their attorneys have approved the documents, so Sally will confirm that they have.
Even so, Audra will worry about getting screwed over and will make it clear that Adam and Chelsea will have some angry CEOs on their hands if that happens.
After the deal gets locked in, Sally will shut down Audra’s complaints and convince her to celebrate.
At the ranch on Thursday’s Y&R episode, Adam and Chelsea will show up with good news for Victor, who’ll seem suspicious when he learns Newman Media will soon be theirs again.
At the park café, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) will open up to Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) about Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) bandage removal having a disappointing outcome.
Although there’s still a chance Nikki’s sight will return, Claire will think it’s important to be realistic and accept that her grandmother might be permanently blind.
Claire will gripe about Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) being overly optimistic and putting too much pressure on Nikki.
It’s led to mother-daughter tension, so Claire will feel like she’s been walking on eggshells and should perhaps keep her opinions to herself.
Holden will think Claire’s right to be pragmatic instead of living in denial, so she’ll appreciate the support and will give him a kiss.
At Crimson Lights, Nick will seem jumpy and agitated as he waits for Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) to finish something up so they can talk.
After Nick’s dealer texts and tries to sell him more drugs, that’ll add to Nick’s agitation.
When Phyllis arrives, Nick will confront her about her night with Matt.
Phyllis will argue that she doesn’t need a chaperone and will call Nick a lunatic for banging on her suite door.
Nick won’t get what Phyllis sees in Matt and will wonder if they’re conspiring against the Newmans.
Phyllis will accuse Nick of being paranoid, but he’ll think she’s being gullible when it comes to Matt instead.
After Nick insults Phyllis’ intelligence, he’ll push her to just leave town with Matt.
Phyllis will wonder if Nick’s serious, so he’ll reiterate that she should “get the hell out” if she’s going to side with Matt.
Phyllis will fire back that she’s not leaving and neither is Matt before she ultimately stomps off.
Once Sharon sits down with Nick, she’ll hear his fears about Phyllis and Matt’s connection.
Nick will also tell Sharon about Nikki’s eyesight not returning yet before he complains about his Matt problems.
Plus, Victor is shutting Nick out of Newman Enterprises for now, so he won’t be happy about that either.
Since Nick doesn’t have any good distractions, he’ll acknowledge that he thinks about drugs constantly and will mention that his dealer reached out.
Nick won’t think his current program is enough and will surprise Sharon by admitting he thinks he needs to go to rehab.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Nick may be on the verge of taking a big step for the sake of his recovery.
