Nina Dobrev is one of the hottest young actresses in the world and it is not by chance. The Bulgarian/Canadian Dobrev has been plying her trade on some of the most high profile platforms of the last several years. Dobrev is famous for many things, but her roles on Degrassi: The Next Generation and The Vampire Diaries shot her into the stratosphere as far as popularity. If that wasn’t enough, her relationship with fellow star Ian Somerhalder exploded her popularity even more. Now she has settled down into a fantastic career and looks for the next big thing in her career.
You probably knew most of what was said up above, but here are some things about Nina that you may not know:
Her favorite actresses are Meryl Streep and Rachel McAdams – On her IMDB page she is quoted as saying this and it is kind of funny. McAdams and Streep could not be more different if they tried. Both are extremely talented, of course, but they are totally different in the way of acting. Nina is a bit eclectic so these two picks are really not all that surprising.
Dobrev wanted to be Bella Swan before becoming Elena – There was a time when Nina wanted the role of Bella Swan for the Twilight movies. She was a huge fan of the series and wanted desperately to play that vital character. Instead, she ended up becoming Elena on The Vampire Diaries and the rest was history. It is interesting how things turned out and imagining Dobrev as Bella. She would have been great in the role as well.
Making jewelry is one of her favorite pastimes – Nina Dobrev is a talented jewelry designer and she hopes to one day open up her own line of merchandise. This multi-talented gal is never short on entrepreneurship and seems to have no end to her personal talents. It will be interesting to see how those things go down the line.
Dobrev was an international athlete – As though her acting and jewelry making wasn’t enough, Dobrev also represented Canada in Aesthetic Gymnastics competitions. This extremely challenging type of gymnastics combines rhythmic movements with stylized dance and gymnastics. Most people know that Dobrev is huge into gymnastics, yoga and staying healthy. She does a wonderful job of doing just that if you were to ask any man on the planet. Dobrev is gorgeous from head to toe and clearly takes great care to stay that way.
Dobrev is a giver too – When you become an international superstar, certain things come along with that celebrity. The best ones find a way to give back and Dobrev fits that perfectly. Dobrev joined her Degrassi: The Next Generation fellow actors and went to Kenya for a non-profit called “Free the Children”. She spent time there with the kids and built a school for that impoverished area. It is vital to always think of those that are less fortunate and from a position of power, this beautiful woman clearly understands that.
