OK! Magazine has a new report claiming that Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves are in a secret romance. Apparently, since Charlize and Keanu starred as love interests in the film Sweet November, they’ve stayed ‘friends with benefits‘. Right, and I’m sure Charlize’s ex-boyfriend of many years didn’t mind at all that his girlfriend was hooking up with another dude.
See, this is why tabloids need to do better research. Charlize and Keanu may very well be hooking up now, but Charlize was in a very serious, very long relationship with Stuart Townsend for the past bajillion years. Since breaking up in 2010, Charlize and Stuart have gone their separate ways and this is actually the most significant amount of time that Charlize has ever been single in her whole life, by her own admission. This seems to be why the tabloids are hooking her up with every eligible Bachelor in Hollywood, but they need to do their research on back stories before flinging stories at readers.
Anyway, OK’s report claims that Keanu and Charlize had dinner earlier this month, and it reportedly ‘seemed like it was a date‘. Apparently, Keanu and Charlize are finally ready to ‘make it official’ after dating on/off for the past two years. Is that why Charlize has been linked to everyone from Michael Fassbender to Alexander Skarsgard?
There’s also the fact that since Keanu and Charlize have known each other for so long, they’re going to have a level of intimacy during dinner that is expected of close friends – which could easily be mistaken for a romantic connection. Also, Keanu’s mostly been out of the country for filming reasons during the last few years, so unless Charlize was spotted abroad with him, I’d take this report with a grain of salt.
