If you’ve paid attention at all to the Big Brother season 16 LIVE feeds, then you’ve known the results of tonight’s nomination and battle of the block episode for a while now. Tonight, we saw the two HOHs — Caleb Reynolds and Frankie Grande — nominate two houseguests each for eviction. Caleb nominated Donny and Paola; Frankie nominated Brittany and Victoria. Victoria was completely stunned by the nomination because Frankie told her at one point during the game that they might even work together.
After the ceremony, big-buff fancy cowboy Caleb cried because he hurt some people’s feelings by nominating them. We might be seeing many, many more tears from Caleb if he’s emotional at the first-ever nominations ceremony. The first nomination ceremony is unicorns and rainbows compared to the messier ones featured later in the game.
A new addition to this season is the Battle of the Block competition. All of the nominees will battle and the winning team will be knocked off the block and saved from possible eviction. Whichever pair wins will also strip the HOH who nominated them of their power — making him or her a new and possible target. Always expect the unexpected.
This first Battle of the Block competition was a relay race. Ultimately, Victoria and Brittany ended up winning — and Frankie was stripped of his HOH perks.
