American Idol Recap: Season 11 Hollywood Week, Part 2 2/9/12

Last night the American Idol dream came to an end for several contestants and if you missed Part 1 of Hollywood week we have our official recap here.  Tonight is another night of hopefuls vying to be the next American Idol the only thing standing in their way are the judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson and of course the other contestants.   Stand by as we live blog the show with all the up-to-the-minute details.

Tonight the fate of Symone Black will be revealed.  Last night Symone finished her song, Otis Redding’s “Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay” and was chatting with the judges when she swayed back and forth with her father looking on from above the audience. All of a sudden, the 16 year old crashed and fell to the bottom of the stage.  Video HERE!

Tonight the pressure builds, it is group night. The group performances are my favorite part of the audition process.  It’s fun to see the contestants trying to find their groups and managing to work together.

We will be live blogging American Idol – Hollywood Week, Part 2 with all the up-to-the-minute details at 8 PM EST so make sure to come back to this spot and watch the show with us. Refresh often to get the latest updates!!

RECAP: Last night dreams came crashing down as many contestants were sent home. Tonight is another stressful night filled with punishment. We continue from last night, Simone Black is receiving care from medics; they believe she fell because her sugar was low and heads to the hospital to get checked out.

Awaiting their fate fate are Lauren Mink, Jeremy Rosado and Symone Black, Lauren heads home with Ethan Jones, he’s the one whose father was in rehab, the rest of this group goes through.

185 hopefuls survived and are now headed to GROUP NIGHT. Ken Warwick warns them that the contestants must make groups of 4 or 5 and be a blend of Day 1 and Day 2 contestants. Some people group up quickly but dozens of contestants are left searching in vain.

Alicia Bernhart and homeless and flu stricken Amy Brumfield can’t find a team. “The theatre has erupted in CHAOS,” says Ryan Seacrest.  Alicia finds a teammate in Dustin. Heejun Han and Phillip Phillips team up together, which I think is awesome, they call themselves M.I.T.

Amy is still weak, but  joins Alicia and are searching for one more person. “I’m used to people running from me, so it’s not that big a deal,” says Alicia the cop. Lots of other groups are already rehearsing and time is running out.

Alicia finally finds a team that accepts her for being a cop. Kyle Crews and Shannon Magrane are working together. Symone Black is alive and well. She was dehydrated and she just needed to eat something. Will any group let Symone sing along? yes, she finds one.

Make You Believers is the “More Than a Feeling” group. Everybody who touched Amy is dropping like flies with the flu, including Gabrielle.

Phillip Phillips is also sick and Cowboy is trying to teach everybody else in his group to dance and it’s driving Heejun insane. “I don’t know how they do it in Cowboy Town, but this is not how we bring it down,” Heejun complains.

Some groups are going to sleep. They blow kisses at the camera. And the virus spreads.  Alicia’s group is next to be affected,”It seems like the more I puke, the better I feel,” Christian says.

Amy is being called “Patient Zero”: “I’m not letting the Devil play with me that way” she  says and swears that she has Jesus on her side.

M.I.T. is having a hard time because of Cowboy. and Heejun worries that his friends will laugh at him.

The Betties are in trouble. Some girl is tired. She’s losing her voice. She says this is because she doesn’t sing well tired, but I suspect she has Ebola. They fight over how much sleep they need and how much sleep they’re going to get. And members start breaking off on their own to go get sleep. One girl in yellow starts bawling about how she doesn’t want to go home.

The Betties are breaking down, it’s 2:35am and most of them want to get some rest, although Brianna refuses to leave Jennifer.

Time is finally up, the judges have arrived. Next week, the contestants will take the stage and give it their best shot for a chance on the Idol stage!

Last night’s excitement was Symone Black passing out and tonight, it was the virus that mutated through the air causing the contestants to drop like flies. I just can’t imagine how they will top that next week! Who will go through and who will be eliminated? Stay tuned!
