The Bachelorette Desiree Hartsock‘s brother has revealed that Chris Siegfried wasn’t her first choice. Well, duh, tell us something we didn’t know.
In an interview with Life & Style, Desiree’s brother stated, “It’s obvious Des settled for Chris. Desiree went on the show because she wanted to get married so badly and she wanted the family and to have kids. Obviously Chris wasn’t her first choice.”
However, he also adds, “She is happy with him and with how it ended up. I think this will be a short engagement, I could see a wedding happening even quicker than next summer. I think it’s obvious she settled for him, but Desiree is at the point where she’s ‘all in’ with Chris, and I think he is just happy he gets to be with her.”
Well, first of all, I think it’s a dick move that her brother spoke to the press about this. I highly doubt he got her permission because she tried her best to make it seem like Chris was her first choice, even though everyone could see that she was lying and was in love with Brooks Forester. Secondly, I doubt it had anything to do with her wanting to ‘get married so badly’, but rather that she signed a contract with ABC and she had no choice but to honor it. When you sign on to be the Bachelorette, you agree that you WILL pick someone to get married to in the finale – no matter how unhappy it may make you. Plus, it’s not like she has to marry him right then and there. Despite what her brother says, I don’t see her going down the aisle with Chris, do you?
