Dylan Sprouse has a come a long way from being a little twee Disney star, headlining the show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Instead, he’s now 21-years-old, and releasing nudes of himself. Well, you can’t deny that he’s come a long way since his child stardom.
Although the move was clearly an obvious publicity stunt, Dylan refuses to admit that he may have made a mistake releasing the nudes. He released a statement refusing to accept responsibility for his actions, instead saying, “The reason I’m making light of the situation is because I don’t think what I did was wrong. To be blunt, I was proud of my progress in the gym, thought I looked hot, and wanted to share it.” He goes off an a rant about how there’s a ‘taboo’ with the human form, bla bla. Basically, he’s trying to say that you should all be blessed that he chose to release his nudes because they’re apparently ‘hot’. Can the ego get any bigger?
But wait, it doesn’t end there. Even though he claims that he’s proud of the pictures and won’t apologize, he then blames the leak on the person who he supposedly sent the pictures to, claiming the leak was due to ‘misplaced trust‘. Uh, sure. If he didn’t orchestrate the leak, then I’m a penguin that can fly.
What is it with these Disney stars and their obsession with showing off their bodies? We had Miley Cyrus, and now we have Dylan Sprouse joining the club. Out of all the child stars in Hollywood, it truly seems like the Disney ones are the most messed up. I don’t know what they put kids through in Disney boot camp, but after seeing all this, I wouldn’t let anyone I know get within 500 miles of starring in a Disney show.
Now, Dylan’s career has been pretty much non-existent since The Suite Life ended its run. There was some report released a couple of years ago about how Dylan and his brother tried pitching a show to Disney, but that didn’t go too well because the executives reportedly turned them down and used the show’s idea without their permission anyway. I’m sure something like that happened – it’s Hollywood, after all – but it seems to have lead to Dylan longing to re-live his Hollywood days, and he might have thought that releasing nudes would be the best way to get back in the public eye. Forget working hard and regaining your status in the industry, that never seems to enter these people’s heads – no, it’s the quickest and fastest way to stardom, and unfortunately, it works every time. Dylan will no doubt capitalize on this and get something out of it – if not a new show, then a reality show or even some added publicity that he’ll then parlay into something bigger.
