OK, as we all know the royal baby is making everyone’s lives better at this very second. I’m trying to keep my shit together but it’s not going well! Everything is pretty normal right now. It’s 2 p.m. in London right now which means the Kate Middleton labor watch has been going on for the last eight hours (?) give or take a few minutes. The average labor for a first time mom is 12 so this is good. She might have that baby out and about by lunchtime for me. Thank you for finally learning to be considerate Baby Wales.
I wonder if Pippa Middleton and Carole Middleton are there yet. The Daily Mail reported that the sister and mother of the Duchess of Cambridge are expected to be there for the labor. I know they are suites and everything but that’s a pretty crowded room, right? Does this mean they will be hanging with Kate during the laying around part but when she has to actually push Prince William will kick them out and make this a more private affair between him and his wife? Clearly she’s close with them so it wouldn’t be the craziest thing for her to allow them in the room during the tough bits. And William might need the support right now. Poor dude is going it alone. Prince Charles is working in York with Camilla and the Queen is camping out at Windsor Castle. So the Middletons are all he’s got right now. Sounds about right.
But this is turning out to be a pretty historic birth. Kate Middleton’s family is rallying around her which is sweet. A lot of other in-laws have taken a back seat during these times because of the whole royal baby thing. But Pippa and Carole are all like, “Screw that. That’s baby’s ours too!” I’m sure they’ll get shit on for it for being pushy or making it all about them but I think it’s cool. It’s the first Middleton grandbaby. Let Carole have her moment. At least she’s not delivering it!
