A new report from Star Magazine claims that Reese Witherspoon‘s husband, Jim Toth, was involved in an affair a couple of years ago with a woman named Courtney Robertson. Are we supposed to believe that Reese would ever stay with a man that dated a reality star? Reese has standards ya’ll, and she would consider it degrading to go out with someone who used to mingle with a former Bachelor contestant.
However, Star’s source claims that since Jim’s ‘torrid fling‘ with Courtney years ago, Reese is worried that Courtney’s upcoming memoir will, “expose Jim’s days as a womanizing, booze-fueled bad boy.” Uh, Jim is an agent at CAA – I think his ‘womanizing’ and ‘booze-fueled’ past is the norm among agents, and I’m sure Reese knew that going into the relationship. She works in Hollywood, and she’s not stupid about what goes on in the industry. Agents aren’t especially discerning about the people they date, especially not to the standards of movie stars.

Anyway, Reese is apparently afraid of this news getting out, and she’s doing her best to shut it down. A source tells Star, “Reese sent Courtney’s agent a handwritten letter and left numerous messages asking her not to mention Jim. [But] Courtney’s people told Reese, ‘All’s fair in love and war.’”
You know, even if Reese knew about Courtney beforehand, I don’t think she would write a letter to her agent. She’s Reese Witherspoon – she would get this shut down before you blink twice. And besides, this whole situation reeks of something that Courtney would leak to drum up publicity for her book. She had her fifteen minutes of fame, and she’s trying to use Reese’s name to try to cling to the spotlight. She probably went on one date with Jim ten years ago, and is now using that to her advantage. Nice try, Courtney, but if you mess with Reese, you’ll end up getting run over.
