Jennifer Lopez and Taylor Swift are allegedly having a dispute. According to Star Magazine, Taylor and Jennifer got into a spat because, “Jennifer was extremely rude to some of Taylor’s closest friends backstage” when they were performing together in LA a week ago.
This source adds, “Jennifer made it clear they shouldn’t look in her direction or speak to her.” Apparently, this made Taylor really angry, and she supposedly, “has decided she will never work with J. Lo again or even invite her to a performance.”
Now, this isn’t the first time Jennifer’s been accused of diva behavior, and while I’m sure that she personally didn’t say anything to Taylor, I could totally see her pulling the ‘I’m busy’ card with Taylor’s friends – especially if she was actually busy. However, I don’t think Taylor would have made such a big deal about it, even if she saw it, because she later tweeted, “Sang Jenny From the Block with @JLo tonight at Staples Center. STILL FANGIRLING OUT ABOUT IT.”
As well know from the Kanye West incident, Taylor will never, never, ever let it go if she feels as though she’s been slighted – and in this case, she’s still ‘fangirling’ over Jennifer Lopez, so she clearly doesn’t harbor any ill feelings towards her.
That being said, both Jennifer and Taylor do seem to get into fake media spats more often than other celebrities, which might be due to their public images. Maybe they need to think about that, instead of having their reps continue to deny these reports and rumors?
Update: Taylor’s rep contacted CDL and denied that the Star story is accurate – the rep said:
The story in Star magazine, which you cite as your source, could not be further from the truth. The LA performance collaboration was a fantastic experience, and Taylor was thrilled. Jennifer and Taylor hit it off tremendously and they had a blast working together, as did their respective crews. Taylor even tweeted about it FOUR TIMES that night, including this one: Sang Jenny From the Block with @JLo tonight at Staples Center. STILL FANGIRLING OUT ABOUT IT.
Taylor loved working with Jennifer, and was so impressed with her professionalism. Taylor is even putting together a video of her week of shows in LA, and this will be a big part of that. Clearly, she would not do that if she was not going to work with her again.
