Beyonce and Jay-Z have been under a divorce watch for nearly 2 months now – ever since that infamous elevator surveillance footage went viral. It has been widely assumed that Jay was caught cheating, quite possibly with Rachel Roy or Naomi Campbell and at least until now Bey herself has appeared pretty unfazed. At a show in Cincinatti, Ohio last Saturday night though, queen B got a little creative with her lyrics and it raised some eyebrows.
In her song Resentment off her 2006 release B’Day she sang,
“Been ridin’ with you for twelve years. Why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?” In actuality, the original lyric should read: “Been ridin’ with you for six years. Why did I deserve to be treated this way by you?”
The math definitely works as she and Jay have been together for 12 years and it’s no coincidence that she changed the time frame in a song about cheating. The couple is currently sharing the billing in their 6 week On The Run tour but rumors are swirling about what may happen once they come in off the road – we expect a divorce is very possible. One thing is very apparent and that is that this couple can no longer deny the problems in their relationship. There is a decent chance that Beyonce could end the marriage , especially if she is lashing out at her husband while preforming with him a few feet away.
