Donna Mills Comes To General Hospital - Knot's Landing Star Joins Cast

A Knot’s Landing star is coming to General Hospital in the next few weeks. According to Entertainment Weekly, Donna Mills – best known for playing Abby Ewing on Knot’s Landing – will be appearing as a new character on General Hospital.

Apparently, this new character will be a very big addition to GH, although details of what she does and when she’ll appear are being kept under wraps. However, Donna was reportedly the only choice to play the character. Apparently, the writers on General Hospital were big fans of Donna on her show, which probably guarantees her job security as long as she wants to stay on GH.

Anyway, Donna’s character will reportedly appear on the show in late February, but we don’t know much more than that.

General Hospital just celebrated its 50th anniversary last April, and it’s now become one of the longest running soap operas on television. The casting of Donna Mills in an integral role caps off a year full of amazing guest appearances, including ones by old stars such as Genie Francis, Richard Simmons, and Rick Springfield.

Of course, even thought the writers on GH are big fans of Donna Mills, don’t expect her character to last long – we can’t be certain. These days there is much uncertainly on the soaps with characters leaving and sometimes switching shows unexpectedly.

  1. […] Examiner reports that a mysterious woman is set to arrive in Port Charles next week, as well-and she’s there to cause trouble. There is speculation that this woman could be the character that Donna Mills has been tapped to portray. […]

At her age I’m sure it is a secondary character with short duration. There are a lot of actors on GH. So many different stories and ONLY one hour.A lots of commercials to. The promo looks awesome though and Donna looks great! I would prefer to see her on The “Young & the restless”. That would be great fun as Ted Shackelford has a recurring character on that soap.
