Seeing just how quickly Ian Somerhalder’s romance with Nikki Reed is progressing makes me believe that the 3 year relationship that he had with Nina Dobrev was nowhere near as serious as we all believed. I mean, it took him a year to even go public with her and in a matter of weeks he can’t contain his joy over his joy with Nikki. Up until now we always believed that Ian was a fiercely private guy now it looks like it was because he wasn’t with the right woman.
Things are moving lightening fast for Ian and Nikki and according to friends of the couple, no one is actually surprised. Even while being with other people apparently major sparks flew between them. We have recently learned that it only took three weeks of dating before the couple started living together in Atlanta, GA.. Nikki is also present on The Vampire Diaries set everyday while her new man is working. The couple is also planning on finding a home together back in LA.

Sources say that the couple shacking up so quickly also isn’t a surprised because when Ian began talking marriage almost from the jump, Nikki was all for it! So while there isn’t a rock on her finger just yet we’re hearing that they are already privately engaged and very focused on building a life together.
