Jennifer Aniston Can't Wait To Bring 'Friends' To Broadway - Complete With '90s Music Written By Sheryl Crow!

Jennifer Aniston, who just can’t seem to get away from that show that made her a household name, is allegedly super excited about the idea of bringing her famed sitcom Friends to the Broadway stage. Now, I have no idea how something like this would work (I smell an epic disaster), but a source for Radar says that “Jen has completely fallen in love with the idea of a Broadway-ready Friends musical.” This news is quite interesting, especially because Jennifer seems to have spent her entire career attempting to detach herself from that glorious, glorious show — not do more with it.

With Broadway, of course, comes music, and Jennifer reportedly wants her good friend Sheryl Crow to compose some fresh ’90s-style tunes to recreate the atmosphere of Friends .

The sitcom was obviously a cultural phenomenon and continues to be an integral part of people’s lives. While Jen and show creator, Marta Kaufman, have made an effort to say that a reunion show will not be happening (nor will a movie), perhaps this reiteration of the classic show will gain some momentum. Of course, the original actors would not play the leading roles.

Jen was noted with saying in 2012, “I can’t imagine how you would do it. It’s not normal. Friends is in your living room; Friends is not in a movie theater. It doesn’t make sense to me. I think it would be going against its authentic self.”

But Broadway? She says, Yes please! The source adds, “Jen has told friends that Glee singing powerhouse Lea Michele would make the perfect Rachel in this project, and it simply becomes a matter of convincing Jen’s good friend, Warner Bros. executive Peter Roth, of the viability of the idea [….] Jen thinks the whole idea is hilarious and too fun to pass up, and she also jokingly refers to it as her ‘billion dollar idea.’”
