Jennifer Aniston has reportedly chosen Chelsea Handler over Courteney Cox as her new maid of honor, a.k.a. her new BFF. We’ve been hearing rumors for ages about how Jennifer and Courteney were taking a break from their friendship, but all seemed well when they were spotted vacationing together recently.
But alas, perhaps things aren’t as happy as they seemed. A source close to Jennifer claims, “Courteney’s given Jen non-stop baby and pregnancy advice, and Jen is sick of it. She doesn’t want a friend who’s a total know it all. She’d much prefer to spend her time with someone like Chelsea, who would never tell her what she should or shouldn’t do.”
There’s also the rumor that Chelsea and Courteney can’t stand each other, which would put Jennifer in quite an awkward position and force her to choose one over the other. Clearly, she’s chosen her ‘fun’ friend Chelsea Handler over her longtime best friend Courteney. It’s good to know that when push comes to shove, Jennifer will always go with fun over loyalty.
Plus, there’s also the fact that with Chelsea, Jennifer will be able to spend endless amounts of time bashing Angelina Jolie. In fact, I have a feeling that bashing Angelina is probably one of their most ‘fun’ pastimes – sit by the pool, drinking cocktails and trash-talking celebrities. Jennifer probably can’t do that in the same way with Courteney, only because she’s much more mild-mannered and polite than Chelsea is. Plus, Jennifer’s been able to use Chelsea as her public mouthpiece for dissing Angelina, and if she picks Courteney over her, she’ll lose that valuable asset.
Of course, it’ll be interesting to see whether Jennifer also picks Courteney as a bridesmaid, even if she doesn’t make her the maid of honor. If that’s the case, there’ll clearly be some tension at the wedding, especially between Chelsea and Courteney. All this, provided that Jennifer actually marries Justin Theroux, not continues postponing the wedding indefinitely.
