Cressida Bonas' Brother Fears For Her Safety - Should He Worry About Kate Middleton and Isabella Calthorpe's History With Prince William

Cressida Bonas‘ half-brother, Jacobi Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, has reportedly opened up about his fears on Cressida’s safety as her engagement to Prince Harry inches closer to being confirmed. Right now, it’s only a matter of time before Cressida officially joins the royal family, but does that mean all sunshine and roses?

Clearly not, if Jacobi’s worries have any merit. He reportedly told the Evening Standard that he doesn’t want Cressida to deal with all this media attention, especially because they are all quite a private family. He reportedly stated, “I’d rather the media machine didn’t build around my sister. My only worry is making sure she is safe and she is ok and she is happy. I don’t really think about it all except in the sense of her safety.”

Of course, there’s also a lot that is going unsaid in his statement, and I have a feeling a lot of it also has to deal with Isabella Calthorpe, Jacobi’s sister and Cressida’s half-sister. Isabella and Prince William had a history back in the day, in fact he left Kate for a time to court Isabella – and it was even rumored that Will proposed to her. However, Isabella turned down the proposal, clearly echoing Jacobi’s sentiments on privacy and safety. She didn’t want to join the royal family, so Will went back running back to Kate Middleton.

Obviously, this has not made Kate’s relationship with Cressida any easier, but Jacobi might be worried about Cressida’s reception into the family, and specifically Kate, with all their history. What’s Kate going to do when Cressida brings Isabella around, especially if Will’s present? Just because they’re part of the royal family now doesn’t mean old resentments and grudges don’t exist, and I’m sure Jacobi’s worried about his sister’s emotional health as well as her peace of mind – two things which were hard-pressed to come by as part of the royal family.
