We’re all already clear on the fact that Kim Kardashian isn’t about to win any awards for new mom of the year, right? Because as it stands right now nearly anytime we see a hint of her daughter, North West, there is always controversy immediately to follow. First there are those perfectly timed photo ops intended to make Kim look like a normal mom. There may be a photo of her pushing Nori in her stroller but you know that their walk lasted all of a block before the kid was passed off to a nanny waiting in the car nearby. Then there was that pic that showed Nori’s eyebrows which are just a little too perfect. That caused a debate that was still raging on about whether or not she would actually wax her infants’ brows, right up until last night when Kim Instagrammed a new photo.
In this one we see little Nori’s hand holding her mother’s huge engagement ring from baby daddy/self-proclaimed genius, Kanye West. At first glance it was nice to see those little fingers but then I had to wonder, does this baby often handle Kimmie’s jewelry because that would be considered a pretty big choking hazard, no? I run on the assumption that most new moms are overprotective and super attentive, but in Kim’s case I can’t help but wonder if it even occurred to her that her rock could end up in Nori’s mouth. I mean, we know this kid is all but raised by the nannies so simple things like choking hazards aren’t exactly going to pop into Kimmie’s head, right?
It’s not the first time Kim has seemed out of touch with her baby either. Photos popped up of her having lunch with Kanye and Nori last month and as she walked, Kim carried her daughter with only one arm. After months of dealing with a helpless infant even when they can hold their heads up you’ll always see mom carrying her child with a protective hand on its back. Not Kim. It seems like the instincts to protect her child may not really be there and she isn’t hands-on enough to make her realize how to handle her kid, don’t you think?
