Kylie Jenner was photographed at lunch with pal Shamari Maurice in West Hollywood earlier today, and she was flashing an extremely shiny rock on her ring finger. So did Jaden Smith pop the question? That’s clearly what she wants you think, considering the obvious angle with which she showed off the ring and how conspicuously she wore it.
However, we have to keep in mind that Kylie comes from a family of master famewhores, all trained in the art of media manipulation and paparazzi baiting. Kylie may have felt that her sister, Kendall Jenner, was getting all the attention lately. I mean, with Kendall’s modeling and her relationship with Harry Styles, it’s almost become Kylie who?
But Kylie being a Kardashian, she’s seeking to rectify that. First the hair color, then the punk rock image, and now, a possible engagement to Jaden Smith. Even if Jaden didn’t actually propose to her, trust me – Kylie knew exactly what we’d be talking about after today’s set of pictures. Even Fame [the agency behind the photographs] had this in their blurb: “Rumors are starting to swirl that Kylie’s boyfriend Jaden Smith proposed to Kylie after she recently posted an instagram photo of herself wearing a ring!”
Yeah, Instagramming the photo and calling the paparazzi to make sure they got photos of it – you know, just in case her thousands of Instagram followers didn’t get out the word.
In all honesty, I’m thinking this is a media stunt. Would Will Smith and Jada Smith really allow 16-year-old Jaden Smith to propose to his 16-year-old girlfriend? ESPECIALLY when that girlfriend belongs to the Kardashian family? They may let their son date her, but I’m pretty sure they would draw the line at marriage.
