For those of you who are blissfully unaware of Mark Wahlberg’s history, here’s a little refresher course. Mark Wahlberg was a racist douchebag when he was younger, and he assaulted one Vietnamese man in the head [with a stick!] and punched another in 1998. Oh, but of course, Mark is ‘sorry’ and he didn’t mean it, and he’s ‘learned’ from his mistakes. Ugh.
Mark claims he wants to be officially pardoned for the crimes, considering that they are still on his arrest record. But of course, we know the only reason he wants to be pardoned is because it’s preventing him from running for office or achieving any of the lofty political goals he’s set for himself. How about how he actually show some remorse and go apologize to that poor man he blinded with the stick? Nope, he won’t do it. However, Mark will give endless interviews to the public that’s tantamount to groveling for forgiveness, even though he won’t do it to the person who actually deserves that apology.
We’re not the only ones who feel this way – Mark Wahlberg’s former bodyguard, Leonard Taylor [who also claimed that Mark attacked him in 2001], doesn’t think that Mark’s actions deserved to be pardoned, either. Leonard Taylor told Page Six, “He hasn’t changed his ways, he just has money now where he can cover it up. You can take Mark out of the trailer park, but you can’t take the trailer park out of Mark.”
Leonard also added, “I’m gonna be in my 70s telling people he attacked me. This is not about money, this is personal. I want to be a painful reminder of what he did.” Wow. So Mark’s former bodyguard is this hateful towards him, and yet we’re supposed to just forgive and forget? Maybe Mark Wahlberg has changed, but I think it’s far more likely that Mr. Taylor here is right, and that Mark is just covering up his inner racist and douchebag with money and BS.
