Neil Patrick Harris’ life has been turned upside down in recent months for a variety of reasons. His hit show How I Met Your Mother recently wrapped production and the actor sold his Sherman Oaks home that he shares with longtime love David Burtka. The couple is currently settling into a new life on the east coast but life in NYC hasn’t exactly been a piece of cake. Harris and Burtka got engaged back in 2011 but there is still no wedding in sight.
According to the Aug. 11th print edition of Star Magazine the guys can’t seem to set a wedding date and the battle over it became so big that they actually have put it completely on hold. Sources say that Burtka, a professional chef, would have swapped vows years ago and that it’s Harris who keeps dragging his feet. There have also been rumors of cheating on both sides – something that’s not exactly shocking. Harris is surrounded by available men that would love his attention and Burtka feels lost in the shuffle of a Hollywood lifestyle he doesn’t actually fit in with. Rumor has it he has turned to others for comfort as well.
Not being able to agree on a wedding date really isn’t a valid reason to postpone a marriage. Obviously there are deeper issues here and infidelity would likely make both Burtka and Harris question whether or not a split is in order rather than a wedding!
