Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Stewart may not know much about the history of the Underground Railroad, but she sure knows how to fuel speculation in the media. Porsha posted a photo on her Instagram account on January 31st with a prominent belly bulge showing through her tight Alexander Wang dress, and all of her Twitter followers imploded her page with comments about the Georgia peach looking pregnant. Now, exactly a week later, Porsha has remained mum as to whether or not she’s baking a little peach cobbler in her oven right now.
Just because Porsha has remained mum doesn’t mean that her ex-husband Kordell Stewart has. In case you somehow missed hearing it, the mumbling in the media has grown to such a pitch that Kordell felt inclined to set the record straight himself. During a chat with Atlanta’s 92.9 The Game radio show, Kordell explicitly told the host, “I am not the father of that child.” This begets the question, why hasn’t Porsha responded to these media allegations herself?
The word on the curb is that Porsha has been dating some prominent Atlanta gent but that she’s not prepared to reveal his identity just yet. If this is in fact true and she is already pregnant by him, perhaps she is uncomfortable disclosing her condition because the alleged relationship is so new and the ink has barely dried on her divorce papers yet. Given her Christian background and the image she portrays, this pregnancy announcement would not be received in such a positive light. You can’t be a good Christian girl and have a baby out of wedlock.
There’s also another explanation: Porsha might be drumming up publicity to increase ratings for RHOA and keep interest in her storyline fresh. Porsha has quite notoriously struggled as a new housewife on the show in regards to the likability of her character. On the heels of her divorce, she’s seemingly working hard to reinvent herself in life and on the show. Her only replies to her Twitter follower comments regarding her “maybe baby” were statements like “Y’all really go in when you comment on my IG” and “But hey people say y’all entertaining…Carry on.” These sort of responses definitely help to sustain interest in regards to what is going on with Porsha these days.
Whatever the case may be, Porsha is clearly aware of the rumors going around town and has resolved herself not to respond; at least for now. Perhaps she is pregnant but plans on getting an abortion, or maybe she just ate too much cornbread that week and is in the gym working out to work that extra weight off.
As the story develops, we’re all left to speculate at this point. It’s curious that Kordell spoke directly to the media about Porsha’s speculated pregnancy, however. In a way, it sort of confirms that something is amiss. At least Phaedra Parks can breathe a bit, as Porsha may be diverting some of the media interest away from the legal woes of her and her husband, Apollo Nida. Where there’s smoke there’s usually fire, or at least a smoldering cigarette.
