Amal Alamuddin Lecturing On Human Rights At Columbia University - Angelina Jolie Thinks She's A Hypocrite?

You’d think that Amal Alamuddin and Angelina Jolie would be BFFs right? After all, they’re both very intelligent, very interested in humanitarian work, and two of the only people in Hollywood with thoughts and passions beyond ‘Hollywood’. So why aren’t they spending more time together? Well, we can’t prove anything definitively either way, but it’s always seemed as though Angelina Jolie and Amal Alamuddin didn’t get along very well. Their husbands, George Clooney and Brad Pitt, may be very close, sure, but there are plenty of examples of husbands getting along and their wives just being ‘meh’ with each other [Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, anyone?].

Either way, the tabloids [and other media outlets] have suggested that Amal and Angelina don’t get along because of the differences in their politics and their political worldviews. For example, Amal is a UN lawyer, but she’s also defended several brutal dictators guilty of human rights violations. Angelina? Well, we know that Angelina Jolie has literally modeled herself as the second coming of Mother Theresa, so anyone defending human rights violations committed by dictators isn’t going to make her very happy.

But alas, are they going to get over their personal opinions and become friends? According to reports, Amal Alamuddin will be lecturing on human rights at Columbia University in the Spring, but has Angelina taken issue with the whole situation. In her mind, Amal Alamuddin has gone against basic human rights values every time she represented yet another brutal dictator – and in that way, how can she be teaching human rights? In Angelina’s mind, Amal’s actions are extremely hypocritical, but to Amal, the Columbia gig is probably a status symbol and a paycheck.

What do you guys think? Will Angelina Jolie continue to consider Amal Alamuddin a hypocrite, even if Amal is teaching human rights at Columbia University? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
