While many people are ready for Bruce’s big reveal – after he’s taken noticeable steps to prepare for a male-to-female sex change – it will be interesting to see how this TV special approaches the subject.
According to a report by TMZ, Jenner will use this interview as a time to not only publicly declare his true gender but to say “farewell to Bruce.” Supposedly, he won’t be revealing his new name, nor will he be dressing as a woman, but sources close to the production state that he views this stage as one of the most important steps in his transition.
In the special, composed of a series of interviews that he conducted with Diane over a period of time, Bruce comments on the first time he felt as if he didn’t belong in a man’s body. From there, he supposedly discusses the impact it has had on him to live as a man but truly feel like a woman. The special, he hopes, will both serve as a way for him to take ownership of his new identity and educate the public about transgender issues.
