The wait is finally over for all you anxious Kardashian-Jenner fans! ABC News has finally confirmed the highly anticipated interview between Diane Sawyer and reality star patriarch Bruce Jenner! The former Olympic gold-medal-winning athlete, 65, has gained much attention in recent months for his transgender transformation as he sex changes from male to female.
The Kardashian clan has yet to officially confirm or deny any of the sexual reassignment surgery rumors explicityly. However, in late January, stepdaughter Kim Kardashian exclusively revealed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, that Jenner is indeed on a journey. Kim stated, “I guess I’ll kind of let everyone be curious and I feel like that’s his journey to talk about.”
Bruce Jenner’s mother also spoke in favor of her transgender son regarding the sex change. In an Associated Press interview earlier this year Esther Jenner, 88, commented, “I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have.” In addition, last week Bruce’s youngest stepdaughter Khloe Kardashian defended her stepfather against comedian Jaimie Foxx’s round of crude tasteless jokes. While hosting the iheartradio awards, the Oscar winner insensitively remarked, “We got some groundbreaking performances here, too, tonight. We got Bruce Jenner, who will be here doing some musical performances. He’s doing a his-and-her duet all by himself.” Foxx latter added, “Look, I’m just busting your balls while I still can.” Khloe later reacted to the incident in an interview with Yahoo’s Insider stating, “I think it’s very mean, but you know, I wish him all the best. It is what it is. I just think — and I know Jamie, so I think that’s also why that’s a really low blow, but hey. Guess that’s what he felt the need to do for a little press.”
Jenner’s 2 hour interview, set to air April 24 9 pm EDT, will no doubt cover Jenner’s controversial sex change and physical transformation as well as his highly publicized divorce (finalized in December 2014) from family matriarch and manager Kris Jenner.
