Kate Middleton Royal Birth: Induce Labor or C-Section, Baby Past Due Date Details

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is a week past her due date, and the world is freaking out. Rumors have been flying about when the Royal Baby will be born, whether or not Kate Middleton will induce labor, and what the sex of the baby will be. Here is everything we know as of now.

Kate Middleton was cited saying, “I’m due mid-April, to the end of April. Not long to go now,” when she slipped that her baby was due on March 18 while volunteering at a children’s centre. Many sources speculate Middleton to give birth on April 23, which would put her at a week overdue.

Reports began surfacing that the Duchess of Cambridge was attempting to induce labor to speed up the process, after she missed her due date. If her due date was April 23-April 25, as many sources suggest, doctors will not induce her until Sunday, May 9, giving her two weeks to allow for a natural labor. A source at the Lindo Wing, where Kate Middleton will give birth has recently stated that the doctors do not wait more than week to make a decision on inducing labor.

Kate Middleton will be admitted to the Lindo Wing, a private maternity wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in west London, when she goes into labor. This was also the birthplace of Prince William, Prince Harry, and Prince George, Kate and William’s first son. The area is currently being swamped by fans of the royal family, as well as press, waiting for updates and the first glimpse of the new baby.

Rumors began to surface on whether or not Kate Middleton would have a Caesarean section, or give birth naturally, but as far as we know, the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to Prince George naturally, and is planning on having a natural birth this time as well. She has one of the best teams in the country making sure everything is going according to plan, and the only reason Kate would have a C-Section, is for an emergency.

Currently, Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Prince George are waiting just a short drive away from St. Mary’s, at their apartment in Kensington Palace. Kate has been spotted swimming frequently, as aquatic exercise is said to help induce labor. William has recently completed the last stage of his air ambulance training, and will be by Kate’s side until they welcome their new baby.

As far as the sex of the baby, the Prince of Wales, Charles, has recently announced that he is hoping for a baby girl. At a reception honoring the Welsh Guards, Charles spoke with Eric Jones, and asked Jones how many daughters he had, to wish Jones laughed and said “One, and that’s enough!” Charles responding in a jokingly manner and said, “And we’re hoping for a granddaughter.”

Prince Harry will not be able to meet his niece or nephew until mid May, after her returns from Australia. Harry was in town for a couple of days, hoping to see the birth of his new niece or nephew, but unfortunately Kate did not give birth.

Of course, the biggest question of them all; what will the baby be named? The most popular name for a girl is Alice, followed by Charlotte, and Elizabeth. If Kate gives birth to another boy, fan favorites or Arthur, and James.

We will keep you updated as soon we find out more information. Until then, we want to hear from you. What do you think Kate Middleton’s baby’s name should be if it is a girl? If it is a boy? Let us know in the comments below.
