Mariah Carey’s career has been on an embarrassing downward spiral for over a year now. Recently, Mariah received a ton of shade when she took a Las Vegas residency – which has been dubbed the stomping grounds for “has beens.” But her latest project is almost more embarrassing than the last. According to a new report, Mariah Carey is starring in her own Christmas movie on the network notorious for its B-List and C-List movie casts: The Hallmark Channel.
Mariah Carey apparently directed and starred in a new Christmas movie titled “A Christmas Melody” – and, of course, it features her singing Christmas carols as well. According to a report from the Hallmark Channel, Mariah plays the lead in the Christmas movie, a high-school music teacher. A girl named Emily moves into town and Mariah bonds with her new student and helps her write a song to sing at the town’s Christmas show. It sounds like it will be packed full of heartfelt Christmas-y clichés.
The internet is having a field day with Mariah’s new movie – and making fun of it. According to Naughty Gossip, Mariah could care less – and she “knew the haters were gonna hate.” A source dished to Naughty Gossip, “Mariah knows the haters will make fun of it, but she doesn’t care. This was her opportunity to star and direct a film and she couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out. She loves Christmas and thinks this will become a holiday classic.”
