Criminal Minds Season 12 Fans Cheated: Adam Rodriguez Replaces Shemar Moore

Criminal Minds Season 12 has replaced all-time fan favorite Shemar Moore with Adam Rodriguez  and buzz is that fans feel cheated. Criminal Minds has been a widely watched show since its very beginning. When Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin) left the show, many fans were disappointed because he had a real fatherly connection to Dr. Spencer Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler).

Joe Mantegna arrived on the show as David Rossi when Gideon left, and most fans have accepted him, but there was always a glimmer of hope for Gideon’s return until that dreadful episode in January 2015, seven years AFTER he left the show; where they revealed he was murdered in his cabin.

Criminal Minds is pretty famous for bringing in new agents to replace the ones we loved so much, but this time there is no way they can get someone to replace our all-time favorite, Shemar Moore. The connection between Shemar Moore as Agent Derek Morgan and Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, was one of the best parts of the show. Their nicknames for each other and the sexual innuendo made fans laugh, even when the crimes they were investigating were so brutal.

The Powers That Be (TPTB) are planning to continue Criminal Minds Season 12 without two original cast members, Thomas Gibson, who portrayed Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner and Shemar Moore, who portrayed Derek Morgan. Gibson, as everyone knows because it was all over social media, was fired recently for allegedly assaulting a writer/producer of the show, when he didn’t like the direction the show was taking.

Shemar Moore chose to leave because he wanted to see what life had to offer and expand his horizons. How do you feel about Thomas Gibson being fired so soon after Shemar Moore quit?

The really sad thing is that TPTB have hired Adam Rodriguez with the intent of making us forget about Shemar Moore. It is not going to happen. Who is going to flirt with Garcia, and tackle the bad guys, protecting Reid and always being the one rescuing his team?

Fans will recognize Rodriguez from a few other roles he has played. He played the role of Eric Delko on CSI: Miami. When he was first introduced he was a towtruck driver, who was friends with David Caruso’s character, Horatio Caine, who encouraged him to become a detective.

When CSI: Miami came to an end, Rodriguez went on to play a stripper named “Tito” in both of the Magic Mike movies, and how could we forget him being Cookie Lyon’s (Taraji P. Henson) boy toy, “Laz Delgado” on FOX’s hit series, Empire?

Criminal Minds is trying really hard to appease fan, because they have also promised the return of fan favorite Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss. We don’t know how many episodes she is returning for but we want her back full-time. Even this news is not going to change our opinion about being ripped off. No offense, but Adam Rodriguez is definitely no Shemar Moore! And fans are not going to remain quiet about it, and if TPTB at Criminal Minds think otherwise, maybe they don’t know their fans at all!
