New General Hospital (GH) spoilers show that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) has a few goals for his time in Port Charles. Some of them are obvious and some less so. Some are about power and some about family. But one in particular is about revenge and involves Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
Valentin is obsessed with Anna and wants her dead. But that will have to be one of the last things on his list since he’ll likely have to leave town after taking out his nemesis. On the Friday GH, Valentin dropped the bomb that he’s Charlotte Bolland’s (Scarlett Fernandez) father.
Anna will soon break the sad news to Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) that the paternity test is not in his favor. Valentin will still have to get tested, but he wouldn’t make a claim he couldn’t prove. Once he has his daughter in hand, then his second goal will be easy to accomplish.
Valentin wants Nina Clay (Michelle Stafford) back in his life – and in his bed – despite the fact that she turned him down pretty harshly once before. But that was before he had Charlotte. Once Valentin has Charlotte, Nina will come to him so that will be checked off his list too.
Next is the Cassadine fortune and assets. Alexis Davis (Nancy Grahn) told Valentin that the document Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) signed is invalid but he handed her a notarized Greek legal document that should settle the matter in his favor.
Once all that is squared away and Valentin can leave town with what he wants whenever he wants, he’ll focus on revenge against Anna. Valentin has a box of mementos that represent the grudges he’s holding in life, chief among them insults given by the legitimate Cassadines.
But Anna Devane is also a memento in his hate box. We saw Valentin staring at a photo of Anna back from the late 1980s when she was married to Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan). The photo was folded so you could only see Anna, so the other half of that photo might be very telling.
It could be Duke with Anna – or it could be a major clue that reveals why Valentin has such a grudge against Anna. In that era, Anna’s storylines didn’t overlap with the Cassadines. That period was her story with Grant Putnam, Robert Scorpio, and Olivia Jerome.
But since Anna had a gap on Port Charles from 1992 to 2001, almost anything could be invented and injected into her history, so that’s likely what will happen. Anna is certain that Valentin looks familiar to her, but she knows him under another name.
Anna infuriated Valentin when she threatened him but he’s got to keep his revenge plan under wraps until he’s got everything else he wants and can take care of her last. GH spoilers tease that Valentin might plan to send Charlotte and Nina out of town ahead of him.
That way he can be free to wreak havoc on Anna, take his revenge, then leave Port Charles to be with them. But we know Anna won’t go down without a fight. Valentin has evaded justice for years, but if he doesn’t back off his death plan for Anna, she’ll be the one to take him down.
