General Hospital (GH) Spoilers: Valentin's True Parents Revealed - Raised by Helena But Not a Cassadine

General Hospital (GH) spoilers fans have been going crazy over Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) since he first arrived on Cassadine Island and (supposedly) murdered his nephew Nikolas (Nick Stabile). Little did fans know that the man who claims to be Valentin is none other than the child, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) thought she miscarried years earlier, when Olivia Jerome attempted to kill her.

Every time Anna sees Valentin, she has a sense of familiarity, and comments on his eyes all the time, and on Thursday, December 1 episode, it could not have been more obvious that not only was Valentin obsessed with the WSB, but he loved to quote Shakespeare, just like his father, Duke.

Long-time General Hospital fans know how obsessed Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) was with Anna. He easily could have taken Anna’s newborn and brought him to Helena Cassadine (Helena Towers); his partner in crime many times. Helena would have been desperate to have a male child around, to train under her, and trust and love her. She would have needed to make everyone believe this child was the real Valentin Cassadine.

This all sounds crazy, but Helena was never one to let anyone stop her from doing what needed to be done. She killed Alexis mother without a second thought, but left Alexis alive because in the Cassadine family and heritage, female heirs were insignificant. When Stefan died and then Stavros died, Helena had to make sure that the elusive Valentin couldn’t come forward to claim what was rightfully his. How better to do that, then have the man obey your every command.

Valentin didn’t appear on screen until after Helena died; and killing Nikolas was just part of Helena’s plan, especially after he deceived her and plotted against her, poisoned her to death in fact. She no longer felt obligated to help Nikolas and her vengeful spirit wanted him dead, so Valentin would get everything. The next male heir would be Spencer Cassadine, and Helena was very fond of him, so there was no need to kill him as well.

The funny thing, is it hasn’t occurred to anyone to have a DNA test done on Valentin to see if he truly is a Cassadine by blood. By Valentin killing Nikolas, he eliminated all but one to compare his DNA to, another reason for him to be rid of Nikolas.

Now that Valentin is in Port Charles, and has just fought with Dr. Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) for his daughter, Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez), the greatest twist of all is happening; it is also too big of a coincidence that he would use a Devane family name to name his daughter Charlotte. Griffin and Valentin would actually be half-brothers, Helena Cassadine must be laughing in her grave over the irony. The question is, when will the truth all come out?

If he were the bad, evil Cassadine Prince everyone claims him to be, why would he go to Alexis and be kind to her, and ask her to join forces with him? He may carry the name ‘Cassadine’ but he definitely doesn’t have the heart!

Fans know that Anna Devane is not a stupid woman, and when she looks into Valentin’s eyes, she sees something familiar, it’s just a matter of time when she learns the full truth. How will she take it, knowing she has a fully grown son she never knew about, or even better, how will Griffin feel when he finds out the man he loathes so much is actually his own brother?
