Kate Middleton Forced To Share Royal Wimbledon Box With Sophie Wessex, Rival For Queen Elizabeth's Favor

Kate Middleton and Sophie Wessex were forced to share the Royal box at Wimbledon on Thursday, July 7. The ladies did not sit next to each other – a gentleman was strategically placed between Kate and Sophie. Are the Royal wives still feuding?

Prince Edward’s wife is not only one of the hardest working Royals, but Sophie probably causes the least commotion in the Royal family. Yes, in the past there have been a few things that have surfaced about Sophie’s business practices. But those revelations have been nothing compared to Sarah Ferguson’s scandals and the Duchess of Cambridge’s demanding ways.

The Countess of Wessex’s willingness to attend just about any Royal function where she is needed has made her a favorite of Queen Elizabeth’s. Not to mention, Sophie and Queen Elizabeth have a shared love of history and enjoy spending hours in the Royal archives reading ancient documents.

Neither Kate nor Sophie appeared too happy at the Wimbledon semi-finales. We’re not quite sure exactly how Sophie felt about sharing the Royal box at center court with Kate because Sophie kept a poker face. Kate, however, had somewhat of a pinched scowl on her face. Not a very attractive look.

At least the Duchess of Cambridge and Countess of Wessex had some famous company join them for the day at Wimbledon. The one and only Maggie Smith, [Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham, ‘Downton Abbey’] and Grammy Award winning pop icon Barry Gibb joined Kate and Sophie for the afternoon.

All in all, we think Sophie Wessex spending the day with Kate Middleton is preferable to poor Camilla Parker-Bowles sharing the Royal box at Wimbledon with Carole Middleton, a smug looking Michael Middleton, and a flashing-her-lady-bits Pippa Middleton.

Will Kate Middleton and Sophie Wessex ever get along? There has always been a chill in the air between them. Probably because Sophie thinks Kate is a lazy Royal who picks and chooses her Royal obligations. Sophie may be just as much a commoner as Kate, but Sophie manages to act much more Royal than Kate ever has.
