After discovering a diamond ring in Tom Hiddleston’s drawer, Taylor Swift has put the brakes on their fast-paced romance, telling the actor that she wants to wait.
According to an In Touch source, “She feels bad because she’s the one who originally told Tom she wanted to get married, but now she isn’t sure what she wants. She ruined the whole surprise, which left Tom upset for obvious reasons. But he was also crushed that she was telling him she wanted to wait.”
Despite numerous reports that Tom Hiddleston’s team has repeatedly advised him to break it off with Taylor, the Thor actor seems determined to walk down the aisle as soon as possible, telling Taylor that she has until the end of August to decide whether or not she wants to get engaged.
It’s unclear why the actor is in such a rush to get married, especially since the couple has only been dating a few months. Reports abound that Taylor is a liability to Tom’s career and that the singer controls every aspect of his life. Odder still is Taylor’s refusal to marry Tom, as she has made it clear that she is desperate to say “I do.” Could Taylor Swift have cold feet because she has her sights set on another man? Perhaps she is hoping to rekindle her romance with ex Calvin Harris? Or has she grown sick of all the negative publicity she has received lately and decided to wipe the proverbial slate clean—starting with her beau?
Maybe the backlash from her ongoing feud with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West has made the pop star realize that she is no longer the world’s favorite sweetheart and her actions have consequences: a hasty marriage and messy divorce could prove to be the final nail in the singer’s PR coffin. Whatever the reason, Tom Hiddleston is clearly devastated by Taylor Swift’s abrupt change of heart and it remains to be seen whether he will continue to stick around after August if she chooses not to get hitched.
