Kate Middleton is rather surprised to hear that her husband Prince William is a fan of the trashy television show ‘The Windsors.’ In fact, he even thinks that Kate Middleton’s portrayal on the show is hilarious.
‘The Windsors’ is a bizarre series that mostly mocks the British royal family in a series of strange storylines. In one episode, the Duchess of Cambridge caught ebola and in another one Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were radicalized. If that weren’t enough, Kate’s sister Pippa Middleton is portrayed as someone who is desperate for attention. She sleeps with Prince Harry and even tries to seduce Prince William.
Even though the series is completely fictional, producers say that many of the storylines are based on real-life events and then reimagined to give the show a soap opera feel. And apparently, Prince William is a huge fan of the show, much to his wife’s surprise.
According to Britain’s Express, one insider close to the situation said, “The Duke finds The Windsors absolutely hilarious. He loves it. He finds the whole ‘Kate is a gypsy’ thing particularly funny. He watched the whole of the first series and will be tuned in for the second.”
For Kate Middleton, this is troubling. If he loves watching a show like ‘The Windsors’ then that could only mean that he enjoys mocking the royal family, their marriage, and worse, his wife. For Kate, there’s nothing funny about catching Ebola or seeing your sister trying to seduce your husband, even if it’s on a silly television show like ‘The Windsors.’
Plus, the series has often been criticized for being trashy. Some have even called it rude and crude and nothing more than punk comedy and a painful parody to watch. For many, it’s not even funny as the content has often been criticized for being more explicit and offensive than anything else.
That’s why Kate Middleton can’t understand why Prince William would enjoy watching a show that is just as disgusting as many reality television shows out there. It especially hurts knowing that Kate is portrayed as a gypsy who really can’t make any sane decisions for herself. For the Duchess of Cambridge, that’s no laughing matter.
