Meghan Markle is everywhere. The actress, who is romantically linked with Prince Harry, has taken the world by storm with her divorced, cut-jeans attitude. Harking back to Princess Margaret and Peter Townsend, no one in recent memory has captivated royal watchers as much as Meghan Markle. Some even refer to her as the new Princess Diana.
Her opposite, Kate Middleton, is slightly less interesting due to her low-key, down-to-earth attitude. It’s like comparing apples and oranges. Or Samsung and Apple. They are somehow the same, but not entirely – hybrids of a new royal era strutting around like they own the place.
According to one royal pundit, “She’s clearly very self-assured, fearless even. in that respect, she is really a breath of fresh air. She’s not a blank canvas onto which royals can project an image, but already has a clear idea of who she is and what she wants to achieve. You haven’t seen anyone like this since Diana. Meghan doesn’t seem to be intimidated by the royal family. She has taken everything in her stride and handled her foray into the royal family with impressive confidence.”
Fearless is an important adjective if your future in-laws are the Windsors. History has taught us that someone from a non-royal pedigree, such as Kate Middleton, forces the monarchy into a corner. They have to shuffle around and make space for the new epoch of royalty. This must be extremely difficult for the Queen, as the church demands that a divorcee cannot be married until the divorcee’s former partner dies.
It’s the reason why Princess Margaret lost the love of her life, Captain Peter Townsend. And it’s the reason why royals should stay away from divorced people, but they never learn, do they? Although the Queen is Head of the Church, it’s difficult to imagine the royal family shunning Prince Harry and the already adored Meghan Markle
Will Meghan Markle be the scythe which sweeps through the cluttered cornfield? Prince Harry has never allowed his royal pedigree to affect his dating life, so it’s impossible to think that he might actually change his mind this time. He clearly loves Meghan, and she loves him.
Or so they said.
