Prince William and Kate Middleton are appalled that online bullies have targeted their daughter Princess Charlotte by leaving nasty comments about her birthday photo. Many online trolls left negative comments about Princess Charlotte’s appearance on the royal family’s official Facebook page.
Some social users commented on the photo with, “What a vile, spoilt brat,” along with, “That cardigan is hideous! Looks like an old granny already!”
Royal fans believe that it’s appalling for anyone to write such nasty comments about a little girl, especially from grown adults. Many people believe that these social media users are targeting Princess Charlotte simply because they don’t like the royal family. In fact, a lot of people are calling for the negative comments and bullying to be removed immediately. Others have said that Princess Charlotte is a charming young girl and shouldn’t be subjected to such hateful commentary online.
The hateful comments might also give Prince William another reason to keep his family out of the spotlight. He still remembers how the media and paparazzi treated his mother before her tragic death in 1997. He doesn’t want to relive the same painful memories with his family now.
That’s probably also why Princess Charlotte hasn’t been seen in public since Christmas day of last year. The last thing that Prince William wants to do is parade his children in front of the public, especially since he feels so uncomfortable with all the media scrutiny himself.
The bullying might also be a reason why Prince William and Kate Middleton have been so hesitant to move back to London. They know that in London they won’t enjoy the same amount of privacy they had back at Anmer Hall. Each and every time Kate Middleton will step out with her children, there’s a good chance that the paparazzi will be there.
So far, Princess Charlotte and her 3-year-old brother Prince George have only made public appearances during royal events and Prince William and Kate Middleton’s public appearances. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made it no secret that they want to protect their children’s privacy for as long as they possibly can. The last thing they want to hear are nasty comments about their children’s looks.
