Taylor Swift has been enjoying her much needed break following her 1989 World Tour. And, we the public have been enjoying not hearing about her for a longtime. It seemed like Taylor Swift was everywhere for the past few years. Even when she was on a break, she would not step away from the spotlight. She’s just as bad as the Kardashians when it comes to having nonstop publicity.
It took the power of Hiddleswift and Kim Kardashian to put her back into hiding. Taylor Swift hasn’t been spotted in months, thankfully. Some of Swift’s crazed fans have been tracking her every move and noticed that she’s hiding away in Nashville. She’s reportedly working on new music and considering whether she should stick to pop or go back to her country roots. Her arch nemesis Katy Perry is attempting to make a comeback.
The pop star received a lukewarm response to her new singles, “Chained To The Rhythm” and “Bon Appetit.” She also seems to be having the worst week ever. Katy has been criticized for her Met Gala appearance to her Instagram posts. Some have been wondering if Taylor Swift is the one who’s orchestrating Katy Perry’s downfall. She’s been quietly hiding while Katy Perry has been in the public eye and embarrassing herself.
Taylor Swift has a lot of pull with the music industry. She is good friends with a lot of producers such as Jack Antonoff and Max Martin. Ironically, Katy Perry has been working with Max Martin on her new album, but it hasn’t been working in her favor. Taylor also has good rapport in the music industry as she’s been applauded for her hard work and songwriting talent.
Some would argue that Swift is not a good singer. She’s not known for her vocals. But, she can write a scathing breakup song if she wants to. Perry, on the other hand, has lackluster vocals and can only write kids’ bops.
Everyone knows that these two have a history with one another. Taylor Swift revealed in her 2014 Rolling Stone cover story about a pop star who ruined her world tour by stealing her backup dancers. Then, Katy retaliated by posting the now iconic tweet, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.” Then came Taylor’s bitter song and star-studded music video “Bad Blood,” which is said to be about their feud.
Katy Perry wasn’t going to let Ms. Swift have the final say. She subtly dissed the singer in her Vogue cover story. Meanwhile, Swift has been keeping to herself. Fans are wondering if the two singers will address their feud in their upcoming albums. Swift is reported to drop her new album around Christmastime. Who knows when Perry’s album will drop at this point. Her music career seems to be unraveling at the seams.
It looks like Taylor Swift is preparing her comeback as America’s good girl and pop’s reigning music queen. She’s probably laughing over the fact that Katy is flopping on the music charts. She’s only returned to Instagram to support her musical friends, Lorde and Haim. So far, no word on her upcoming album.
