General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Carly (Laura Wright) will find herself stuck in quite a mess. She’ll do some time in a psychiatric facility thanks to Diane’s (Carolyn Hennesy) insanity defense, but at least she can avoid prison. Carly will initially have a meltdown over her fate, but she’ll try to regain her optimism a bit later. She’ll refuse to let Nelle (Chloe Lanier) drag her down.
With some encouragement from Jason (Steve Burton), Carly will do her best to stay strong. She’ll be confident that she can quickly prove she’s sane and get back home where she belongs. However, it looks like this mental institution could contain some secrets and curveballs. Carly may be in for a big surprise when she sees what’s in store!
GH viewers know Nelle’s recent plot centered on Morgan (Bryan Craig). She wanted to drive Carly over the edge with “hauntings” and little reminders of her deceased son. Nelle figured that Carly would either go crazy or appear that way to her loved ones. It turned out to be the latter, which worked out just fine. Nelle just wants Michael (Chad Duell) on her side and Carly as far away as possible.
However, General Hospital spoilers say some shockers will change everything soon. Carly’s psychiatric facility stint could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Let’s think about this. What’s the one thing that would make this worthwhile for Carly? What would tie all the Morgan drama together for a satisfying conclusion? Carly could stumble across a very much alive Morgan while she’s locked up!
Most GH fans assume Morgan survived the explosion and will ultimately reappear again one day. What better place for him to turn up than in the same mental institution as Carly? Between Morgan’s bipolar issues and his possible amnesia, it’d be a no-brainer for him to need psychiatric care. Morgan could also use some love and support right now, so Carly’s timing would be perfect.
Bryan Craig shot a pilot that’s been picked up, which means this GH comeback would likely involve a recast unless it was very short term. The show might go for a plastic surgery angle after the explosion or they could just pretend Morgan looks the same to Carly. Either way, Carly might have a hard time convincing Morgan and the staff that he’s her presumed dead son.
This could make her seem even nuttier at first, confirming the validity of her insanity plea, so Carly’s visits with the outside world might be cut off. The doctors and nurses might think Carly’s family and friends are adding to her woes. If Carly could jog Morgan’s memory, perhaps they could work together on getting out of there. It’d be a great opportunity for these two to team up.
Once they score their freedom, Morgan might help his mom take down Nelle for exploiting his “death.” Would you like to see Carly and Morgan join forces?
