Princess Diana’s Biographer Weighs In On Similarities Between Meghan Markle And Wallis Simpson

Princess Diana’s biographer is weighing in on the similarities between Meghan Markle and Wallis Simpson. As many royal fans know, Wallis was the first American divorcee to marry into the House of Windsor. She married British king Edward VIII back in 1937.

According to Andrew Morton, he writes in his new book, “Wallis In Love,” that Meghan Markle’s shouldn’t follow in Wallis Simpson’s footsteps. That’s because Wallis was a bitter royal and a socialite who contributed very little to the royal family.

Andrew says, “I think the lesson Meghan should learn is don’t be like Wallis. Don’t spend hundreds of thousands on your clothes or jewelry and then do nothing other than sit around because people don’t appreciate that. People like to feel that the royal family live well, but at the same time give back.”

But then again, a lot of royal critics know that the times have changed. Clearly, Meghan Markle is a different person. Yes, she’s also American and a divorcee, but she’s got different priorities. She’s already proven to the world that she’s passionate about her charity work and is a well-traveled and educated person who wants to give back. The last thing Meghan wants to do is sit around the palace all day while counting her royal jewels.

It’s not really fair to compare Meghan Markle to Wallis Simpson, especially since the royal family is completely different now. Yes, both Meghan and Wallis are Americans and outsiders to the royal family. But Meghan has a slight advantage over Wallis because her future husband Prince Harry isn’t your typical royal.

As a matter of fact, he’s not even like his brother, Prince William. Harry is the one member of his family that is more understanding and compassionate and even in touch with the real world. A lot of people would agree that Prince Harry’s best qualities come from his mother, Princess Diana. She treated everyone with the same respect and care.

Meghan Markle knows that with Prince Harry by her side, they can work with each other as a team. As a matter of fact, both Harry and Meghan even said that they look forward to working with each other in hopes that they can make this world a better place.
