The Young and the Restless spoilers has some sad news to pass along about a popular Y&R star. Hunter King, who portrays Summer Newman on the CBS soap, recently posted on her Instagram account that her beloved golden retriever, Dallas, has passed away.
Hunter posted several photos of Dallas through the years along with a lengthy message. “There are no words…no words to describe the love I have for you Dallas, and no words to describe how much my heart is hurting without you by my side,” she wrote. She went on to describe Dallas as her best friend, and as someone who brought her great joy.
Those familiar with Hunter’s Instagram feed know that Dallas had been suffering from cancer for a while and had been receiving chemotherapy treatments. Hunter frequently posted photos and updates about Dallas on her feed.
She rounded out her post like this: “It feels like a piece of my heart is missing but I know it’s with you. My heart is broken but I know you’re in heaven, pain free, and enjoying all the food and toys. I’ll love you forever my Dallas girl.”
Hunter has received an outpouring of support from her many followers on Instagram and Twitter, where her Instagram posts are re-posted. Many fans offered their condolences and support. Others identified with her suffering and responded that they’d recently lost their beloved pets as well.
In addition, two soap stars tweeted their condolences to Hunter following her loss. Greg Rikaart (Kevin on Y&R, Leo on Days of Our Lives) told Hunter to hang in there, and Chrishell Hartley (Jordan on Days of Our Lives) responded that the loss was heartbreaking and that she was sending her love.
