Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some sad news to pass on about a popular DOOL star. Kate Mansi, who portrays Abigail DiMera on the NBC soap, has shared with her social media followers that her grandmother, whom she called Honey, has passed away.
Kate and her grandmother were very close, which is clear from the variety of photos that she posted on Instagram. Kate posted a beautiful vintage picture of her grandmother in a field, as well as several photos of herself with her grandmother and other family members over the years.
Kate’s caption for the photos reads as follows: “Every minute with you as my Grandmother was a blessing, Honey. And may I say, not in a shy way…you did it YOUR way.”
Kate’s post has received an outpouring of supportive comments from her fellow soap stars. Chrishell Hartley (Jordan Ridgeway, DOOL) responded to Kate’s post with: “So sorry – Sending love to you.” And Tamara Braun (Kim Nero, GH) commented: “Sending love.”
Kate’s fans have also responded to her post with loving and supportive comments. One fan wrote: “What a beautiful tribute to your beloved grandmother, Honey. I’m so sorry for your loss. May her memory always be for a blessing.” And another wrote: “Beautiful…Grandmothers always have a special place in our hearts that only belong to them.”
As DOOL fans know, Kate will be returning to Days of Our Lives this fall along with Billy Flynn, who portrays Chad DiMera. While viewers will be glad to see Kate back on canvas in the coming months, we all share in her grief over her beloved grandmother’s loss.
