General Hospital (GH) spoilers have some great news to pass on about a fan-favorite GH actress. Kathleen Gati, who portrays Dr. Liesl Obrecht on the ABC soap, is celebrating her seventh wedding anniversary. Kathleen is happily married to Michael Bowers.
Kathleen posted a beautiful photo from her wedding reception seven years ago on both Instagram and Twitter, along with the following caption: “Met this wonderful man 12 years ago and married him 7 years ago today. So grateful for all the love!!”
Kathleen’s followers have been responding in droves to her post with congratulations and well-wishes. One commented: “Happy Anniversary! Beautiful photo and couple. Cheers to many more years of health, happiness and love.” And another said: “Your smile is always so radiant, but as a bride, you top that radiance even more.”
Kathleen’s GH costars have responded to her post as well. Sonya Eddy (Epiphany Johnson) wished the couple a happy anniversary, and Risa Dorken (Amy Driscoll) commented: “Happy Anniversary to you and Michael!’
Of course, Kathleen’s alter ego Dr. Liesel Obrecht doesn’t give much thought to romance these days. She’s too busy meddling in others’ lives and keeping secrets. She’s currently in the know about two big GH secrets. First, she’s privy to Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) secret that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) isn’t really Nina Reeves’ (Michelle Stafford) daughter.
And second, she’s aware that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) gave birth to a healthy baby boy, rather than a stillborn child. Thus, she’s in the position to uncork two big revelations in the near future…that is, if she wants to. Obrecht tends to keep secrets and blackmail others with them, much like she’s doing with Valentin currently.
We’ll see what’s in store for Obrecht down the road. Right now, she seems to be happy writing her medical column for The Invader and subtly meddling in others’ affairs. But will she have a nice romance somewhere down the line? We shall see!
