General Hospital Spoilers: Steve Burton and Costars Say Tough Goodbye – GH Coworker Departure Brings Emotional Farewell Messages

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the cast and crew of the ABC soap recently faced a tough goodbye. Dale Carlson has been a cameraman at GH for 38 years, so he’s certainly shot plenty of wonderful scenes for fans to enjoy. He’s had a fantastic career, but he’s ready to step away from the job he clearly loved so much.

Carlson retired from the show, so it led to lots of well wishes from everyone at General Hospital. Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) posted a great pic along with a sweet caption on Twitter. He loved getting to know Carlson during their time on set together, so he hates to see him go. It’s a difficult farewell, but Burton is grateful for Carlson’s 38 years of commitment and hard work.

Burton said, “Today one of the GREATEST camera men retired! He was @GeneralHospital for 38 plus years which is amazing! Sad for us, happy for him. A true gentleman & a kind soul. I will miss his positivity and great skill. Thanks to his family for sharing him. We love you Dale Carlson.”

Some other GH stars chimed in to congratulate Carlson on his achievement and wish him the best. One of them was Jon Lindstrom, who’s been crushing it lately as Dr. Kevin Collins and the supremely creepy Ryan Chamberlain. He sent out a heartfelt tweet, which included some fun photos.

“I’m going to miss this man so damn much,” Lindstrom said. “Dale Carlson you are a class act and an extraordinary cameraman for 38 years. And this show will never look as good! Congrats! You made it!” It’s easy to see just how much Carlson was appreciated at General Hospital.

Kathleen Gati (Liesl Obrecht) was also on hand for Carlson’s retirement celebration. She tweeted some pics as well and said, “The kindest, sweetest cinematographer I have ever worked with #DaleCarlson retired today from @GeneralHospital. Can’t say enough how grateful I am for his beautiful, supportive and gentle spirit I’ve had the honor to work with these past 6 1/2 years.”

It’s nice to see the GH family come together to make Carlson feel loved as he starts this new chapter. However, the show must go on!
