The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers recap for Friday, December 27, reveal that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) were hard at work on their designs for the fashion showdown in the Forrester CEO office. Sally said that she was stoked to be competing in the showdown, and talk soon turned to the fact that Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) was designing for Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) line.
Sally wondered what Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) thought about Thomas working with Hope, and Steffy mentioned that she hated seeing Liam struggle with it, especially after struggling after the loss of Beth Spencer (River Davidson and Madeline Valdez) for so many months. Sally noted that Steffy still cared about Liam, and Steffy confirmed that she did before remarking that he was really trying to protect Hope now.
Meanwhile, at Spencer Publications, Brooke Forrester (Katherine Kelly Lang) expressed her doubts about Liam’s plan to get Zoe Buckingham (Kiara Barnes) to spy on Thomas. Brooke lamented about how much Thomas had cost her, and that it was terrible that Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) couldn’t face the fact that his son was sick. They rehashed Liam’s plan, and Brooke urged him to get his answer about Thomas quickly, since she didn’t want Hope spending any more time with Thomas than necessary.
In the Forrester design office, Hope and Thomas talked about a design sketch that Thomas had come up with. As Hope gave her feedback not the design, Thomas silently obsessed over Hope’s body, then moved in to take a pencil from her hand that she was using to edit the sketch. As he touched her hand, Hope pulled back and freaked out over his gesture.
Thomas immediately apologized and insisted that the gesture wasn’t a come-on, and after some back-and-forth, Hope seemed to soften a bit. He assured Hope that he was moving on with Zoe. Zoe then walked in, saying that she had gotten Thomas’ message. Thomas deliberately kissed Zoe passionately in front of Hope before Zoe left to give him a moment alone with her.
Thomas then informed Hope that he had made plans with Zoe for the evening and was wondering if she could take Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) for the night. Hope agreed, and Thomas said that they made a great team parenting Douglas, and on the line, too. He again apologized for making her feel uncomfortable earlier, and she said that she understood, and that it was ok.
Later, Hope was working alone when Steffy came in to see how things were going, and she wondered where Thomas was. Hope revealed to Steffy that Thomas went out on a date with Zoe, which immediately interested Steffy. She asked what Hope thought about that, and Hope said that she was skeptical at first, but that it seemed that Thomas and Zoe are truly attracted to each other.
Hope then stated that while she still has issues with Zoe, she supported a relationship between her and Thomas, and that Thomas had asked her to watch Douglas for the entire night. Steffy listened intently as Hope said that she can believe in Thomas if his romantic attention is turned elsewhere, and perhaps she’ll finally be able to stop living with constant suspicion where Thomas is concerned. Steffy seemed pleased about this.
At the Forrester mansion, Thomas and Zoe arrived to a romantic setup with candles and champagne. Thomas had made sure that they’d have privacy for this very special evening, and the two sat in front of the fire together. Zoe stated that she never dreamed of having a second chance like this, and Thomas said that he had been given a second chance, too.
Zoe said that she never predicted that they’d ever date, and Thomas said that he always thought she was a beautiful, fascinating woman with a mystery about her. They kissed passionately, but Zoe pulled back and noted that she never really felt his attraction to her before. Thomas said that’s because she was with Xander Avant (Adain Bradley) and he was otherwise engaged.
Zoe noted that he was pretty crazy in love with Hope before, and that before she gets too invested, she needs to know if this is all about her, or if she was here to distract him from his feelings for Hope. Thomas seemed to hesitate.
